On January 12, 2022, members of SHyNE’s advisory committee, steering committee, facility managers, and staff came together for SHyNE’s 6th Annual Advisory Meeting.  Although hoping to meet in person it was still delightful to meet virtually, and celebrate the goals and the achievements of the SHyNE Resource.

After a warm welcome from SHyNE Director Professor Vinayak Dravid, the team was led through all the exciting facility updates with the assistance of Dr. Kamran Mobarhan, the new Senior Director of Operations for SHyNE Resource. Dr. Mobarhan joined the SHyNE team in the Summer of 2021 and manages the SHyNE nanotechnology activities both internally and also within the larger NNCI network.

Presentations from our partnering facilities featured highlights from the past year as well as plans for the year to come and an update on the new instrumentation acquired for their labs. The Internal Steering and Advisory Committees were able to meet and offer their valuable feedback to the SHyNE administration and staff on future goals and directions for SHyNE as they head into their 7th year.

It is an exciting time to be part of the NNCI network and to be involved with creating more opportunities to connect state-of-the-art research facilities to academic, government, and commercial programs. Here’s to another great year advancing nanotechnology research and access. See everyone in 2023!
