SHyNE held their 4th Annual Meeting this week on November 12, 2019 on Northwestern’s Evanston campus. The meeting kicked-off with coffee and a warm welcome by SHyNE Director, Professor Vinayak P. Dravid.

To lead off the presentations, Peter J. Duda, Technical Director of the Pritzker Nanofabrication Facility and 2019 NNCI Employee Recognition Awardee, discussed the new inventory and improvements at the PNF Facility. ShyNE was then honored to host Northwestern’s Interim Vice President for Research, Dr. Milan Mrksich, who attended and gave a brief overview on the value and future of Core Facilities and research at NU.

The presentation portion of the meeting wrapped up with Dr. Andrew Ott, Director of IMSERC and Dr. E. Begum Gulsoy, Associate Director for the Center for Hierarchical Materials Design (ChiMaD) followed by lunch and meeting of the Advisory and Internal Steering Committees who provided valuable feedback to the SHyNE administration and staff on future goals and directions for SHyNE as they head into their 5th year and NSF renewal.
